An online community of people looking to make little changes that lead to big differences.
Welcome - it's great to have you here
I should start by saying this is NOT a sobriety website, or to be correct, not JUST a sobriety website. I started It's That Sober Guy, to create a community of like-minded individuals.
If you are looking to make small changes to your life, that will lead to big differences, this site is for you. If you are sober that's amazing, however, if you are not that is ok too, even if you have no interest in reducing alcohol but want to improve other areas of your life, this site is for you.

We are an online community that empowers each other to stay positive but accountable in our alcohol-free journeys. All are welcome here, so what are you waiting for, why don't you join us?

My journey so far...
Welcome to the community, I'm delighted to have you here.
I never thought I'd become sober, drinking was always something that was ingrained into my being, and it was something that I remember since my teens. I'm not sure what led me to the actual day that I decided to stop but at 39 years old I did, and it was both the best and worst thing that ever happened to me.
If I'm honest, it's the best! The changes to my life have been amazing, but unlike a lot of the journeys you've read online it's not been smooth sailing; I've put on weight, and I've had to admit that my mental health, whilst improved by not drinking, is still not always great. I've come to realise that this journey has not finished, but in fact, just started.

One thing that has really helped me is to build a network of like-minded individuals, it keeps me accountable and empowers me in my sobriety. However, not living in a large city and knowing that addiction does not recognise borders, I decided to start the It’s That Sober Guy community online, offering to share my learning but also learn from others at the same time.

Physical and mental health has always been a subject I'm passionate about. As men, we don't talk about our mental health enough. These issues in life don't just affect those suffering but everyone, regardless of age, gender, or race. The way we can overcome any problem in life is to discuss them openly, listen to what others have to say and learn from each other. That is why this group is open to all, accepting all opinions, and discussing issues openly.

I wish you all the luck in your sobriety, reducing your drinking or any other lifestyle change you wish to make. It's great to have you on board.
